Rosetta Stone Emmersion’s WebCAPE assessment is an adaptive language proficiency test used to evaluate your reading and grammar skills. Follow these instructions to successfully complete your assessment and troubleshoot potential issues.
Getting Started & Taking the Assessment
Sign into Emmersion
Many organizations provide their test-takers with a link to access their assessment. If you click on this link, you will either be asked to create a profile, or to sign in if you completed this step previously.
Other organizations choose to send each test-taker a unique link via email. In this case, you will receive an email inviting you to click the link and register a test account. This link becomes inactive after you have registered.
Once your Emmersion profile is active (or if you created one before), you will sign in to your account at https://app.emmersion.ai/login.
If you leave the assessment and wish to return later, always sign in through the URL https://app.emmersion.ai/login.
If you forget your password, click Forgot Password and you will receive reset instructions.
- Accessing Your Assessment
After signing in, you will see your assigned assessment(s).
Click TAKE TEST to begin.
Read the assessment requirements carefully, then click CONTINUE.
You may be asked to confirm your name. Read and answer the questions and click CONFIRM.
You may be asked to confirm agreement with the test conditions. Read and answer the questions and click CONFIRM.
Next, you may be asked to complete a Language Background Survey. Fill in the requested information and click SUBMIT.
Next, you will be prompted to begin the test. When you are ready, click Begin Test.
- Taking the Assessment
Each question will include instructions; read them carefully before answering.
You cannot return to a question after you have submitted an answer.
Select the best possible answer as you progress through the possible answers.
The assessment is adaptive, so the difficulty level will adjust based on your performance.
Your results will be available to your test provider as soon as you complete your assessment.
If the setting is enabled, you will be prompted to view your results as well.
Tips for a Smooth Experience
Tip #1: Use only the test link provided by the entity requiring the test.
Tip #2: Ensure your internet connection is stable and that your web or device browser is updated and compatible.
Tip #3: Allow at least 30 minutes to complete the assessment.
Tip #4: Use a computer or other device you are comfortable with.
Tip #5: Take your test in an environment with no interruptions or distractions.
Turn off extra screens, close extra tabs, and mute notifications.
If in a shared space, let others know beforehand that you are taking an assessment for a certain amount of time.
Troubleshooting
If you lose your internet connection during the test, try reconnecting and signing back into your account.
If your device loses power, restart your device and sign back into the assessment as soon as possible.

Suggested warm-up strategy
Before you start your test, read some material or listen to a podcast in your test language. This will get you thinking in the target language.
Prepare your device and clear your space from distractions.
Take a deep breath and give your entire focus to your test.
